“The concrete is going to be new, but we want to Sandblast it to look like it’s 60 years old to match the existing concrete, can you do that?”

-Client

Sandblasting also known as Abrasive Blasting, is a generic term for a process of smoothing, cleaning, and texturing a hard surface by forcing solid particles across that surface at high rates of speed; the effect is similar to that of using sandpaper, but provides a more even finish (if you looking for smoothing) or a texture that you are looking for with no problems at corners or crannies.

Dry Blasting VS Wet Blasting (“Dustless Blasting”)

You will come across companies that try to sell you that their blasting is “state of the art” or that they only know how to sandblast. Sandblasting comes in various flavours and types based on the equipment and the blasters behind the gun.

At AXA Sandblasting, we provide Dry and Wet Sandblasting Services.

Many people hear the term Dustless Blasting. This is a misnomer, as Dustless Blasting is really just Wet Sandblasting in a pressurized ‘Pot, ‘ and when you Sandblast, you get a much smaller ‘Dust Cloud.’

It isn’t Dustless, and whoever tells you it is is lying.

Dry Sandblasting is what you would think it would be and as messy as it sounds from interiors to outside work in the dead of winter on concrete or vehicles.
